Our Historic Bar

There are many fine beverages enjoyed at the Tribeca Grill, and the restaurant’s beautiful mahogany bar has a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of history. For many years, it was an important feature at Jack Dempsey’s Restaurant, located at the Brill Building, in the heart of Tin Pan Alley, where many great song hits were composed. Imagine revered songwriters and lyricists leaning on the bar as they wrote the next big hit. Then the bar moved to Warner LeRoy’s famed Maxwell’s Plum Restaurant, a popular and flamboyant Upper East Side destination, that symbolized two social revolutions of the 1960s—sex and food.  In 1990 the bar became the centerpiece of the quintessential NYC Restaurant, Tribeca Grill, where many celebrities and guests from all over the globe bend an elbow and enjoy world-class food and drink, and a Grand Award-winning wine list. Now you are the star, as you add new history to a bar that has been a focal point across two centuries.
